Objectives At the completion of this subject, students should be able to describe various techniques used to implement operating system services by the operating systems studied.
Synopsis The following operating systems features will be studied via case studies of various commercial operating systems: process management, memory management, concurrency, job and process scheduling, distributed computing, file systems, database management systems, compilers and applications programming interfaces, and operating systems security.
Assessment Examination (2 hours): 50%
