Objectives The aim of this subject is to enable students to apply the principles of production planning and control to MRPII and JIT manufacturing environments.
Synopsis Nature and scope of manufacturing management; importance of operational management. Demand forecasting, capacity planning, master scheduling - MRP II. Inventory analysis and job sequencing and scheduling. Assembly line balancing. JIT production. Smoothed production, Kanban control and total quality management systems.
Assessment Examination: 60%
