Objectives To develop skills and understanding relating to the concepts, principles and thrust of TQM.

Synopsis Quality assurances. Economic and organisational basis for the improvement of quality, the cost of poor quality, specifications and standards including AS3900. Total quality management programs and their effective use. Data interpretation and evaluation of design in quality assurance. Incoming goods inspection. Quality for design; problem-solving techniques.

Assessment Examination (3 hours): 50%
