Objectives The student is expected to acquire the skills and understanding of introductory differential and vector calculus.

Synopsis Topics covered are differentiation, integration and their applications; first order differential equations. Coordinate geometry and coordinate transformations will also be presented in relation to the applications of differentiation and integration. First order differential equations will be introduced to the students in preparation for the partial differential component of this subject. An introduction to vectors will be presented followed by components including the basic vector operators, and multiple integrals.

Assessment Examination (3 hours): 70%
* Assignments 30%
