Objectives This subject is designed to provide a basic knowledge of the structure property relationships of polymeric and composite materials and to provide an insight into the process of materials selection and its relationship to processing.

Synopsis Basic structure of thermoplastics, thermosets, composites, foams and timber and the effect of structure on properties. Materials selection processes.
