Objectives The student is expected to gain a basic understanding of the advanced techniques to predict and increase systems reliability; the skills required to optimally manage reliability information; and a basic knowledge of advanced and strategic reliability.

Synopsis Monitoring system; design of sensor system; synthesis of fault trees with control loops; knowledge engineering and isolation of cause; human reliability and adversary modelling; reliability optimisation techniques.

Assessment Examination: 60%
* Assignment: 40%
