Objectives The student is expected to develop an understanding of the basic requirements for good management and develop an appreciation of the need for appropriate self-management skills. The student is also expected to recognise the need to understand industrial relations, professional ethics, negligence and liability, and the occupational health and safety.

Synopsis Communication skills, decision making and problem solving skills. Ethics and professionalism, negligence and liability. Aspects of management and management processes such as organisations, group behaviour, planning organising, leading, motivation. An introduction to industrial relations and occupational health and safety.

Assessment Examinations: 70%
* Assignments: 30%
