4.5 points
* 39 lecture hours and 26 tutorial hours
* First semester
* Gippsland
* Prerequisite: GEG2313

Objectives To give students thorough grounding in structural analysis. To give students basic principles of matrix methods of structural analysis. Students should be able to solve statically indeterminate trusses, beam and frame structures.

Synopsis Analysis for variable loading conditions. Fundamentals of statically indeterminate analysis. Static indeterminancies; redundancies; requirements and limitations of compatibility. Analysis of pin-connected frameworks by equilibrium methods - direct solutions. Analysis of beam and frame structures by equilibrium methods (direct and iterative solutions).

Assessment Examination: 70%
* Assignments: 30%
