Objectives The student is expected to understand the theoretical basis and acquire hands-on experience in some of the current industry standard computer models for flood estimation, urban drainage and river hydraulics calculations.

Synopsis Computer analysis of flood data. Introduction to real hydrologic data, selection of appropriate data. Computer modelling of hydrologic system: flood estimation and water surface profile calculations using industry-standard software. Theoretical basis of software, assumptions and limitations. Model uncertainties and reliability of modelling results. Sensitivity analysis,

Assessment Examination (2 hours): 70%
