Objectives To develop competence in using industrial engineering skills to solve industrial problems.

Synopsis A nominal two hours per week to undertake an investigation into an industrial problem. The investigation may be industry based. Students will work singly or in groups depending upon the complexity of the project undertaken. The investigation may be based upon studies in an external business supported by an appropriate literature survey. Emphasis will be given to development of project management skills such as planning, goal setting and scheduling utilising industrial engineering skills.

Assessment Practical work, laboratory work, fieldwork and oral: 100%
