Objectives The student is expected to acquire an understanding of the fundamental principles of micro-computer hardware and software design.

Synopsis Computer and microprocessor architecture. 8-bit microprocessors. Microprocessor system hardware and software concepts. Memory devices. Input/output in microprocessor systems. Programmable interface devices and applications.

Assessment Class test: 60%
* Practical and tutorial work: 40%
