Objectives To develop awareness of factors which contribute towards making an organisation effective, efficient and competitive.

Synopsis Organisation performance: organisational behaviour, interpersonal interaction; measures of performance and factors which affect performance. Engineering economy: project selection; costing concepts, DCF, other evaluation methods; value analysis. Communication skills. Quality: competitive advantage; TQM - management and employee commitment; supplier integration. Environmental safety and legal aspects.

Assessment Assignments: 30%
* Examination (3 hours): 70%
