Objectives The student is expected to acquire a basic knowledge of application of modern equipment to demand side management of electrical energy use.

Synopsis Automatisation of energy management. Data acquisition systems for energy use monitoring. Smart energy meters. Non-intrusive measurement systems. SCADA systems. Automatic energy billing systems. Computer control of commercial buildings. Home automation.

Assessment Examinations (2 hours): 70%
