Objectives The student is expected to develop an understanding of introductory concepts of marketing and strategic planning within an engineering enterprise, quality management principles and product liability issues. The student should be able to distinguish the wealth generation role of the private sector from the public sector governance role.

Synopsis Marketing and planning principles: planning for the company, markets, the marketing mix, quality management, the business plan. Public sector business: the government, public sector budgeting, hours. The professional engineering role, ethics, your career.

Assessment Examination (2 hours): 25%
* Projects, assignments and presentations: 75%
