Objectives The student is expected to gain an understanding of the nature of road accidents and strategies for reducing the costs of road trauma, particularly those related to road and traffic engineering.
Synopsis The road accident problem, hazardous road locations, accident data collection and analysis, identification of problem sites, diagnosis of problems, countermeasure selection, project appraisal and priorities, monitoring and evaluation.
Assessment Examination (2 hours): 50%

and practical work: 40%
* Seminar participation: 10%
