Objectives The student is expected to develop an understanding of basic economics as it applies to transport.

Synopsis A course in economics with reference to transport including supply and demand for transport, welfare economics and consumer surplus, pricing and regulation and economics.

Assessment Examination (2 hours): 50%
* Assignment: 20%
* Case studies and tutorials: 30%
