Objectives The student is expected to gain an understanding of the principles and practice of road traffic engineering and management and an awareness of the role of the traffic engineer in tackling current problems.

Synopsis The road traffic system, traffic networks, traffic management, traffic design elements, intersection design and control, analytical techniques.

Assessment Examination (2 hour): 50%
* Assignments and practical work: 40%
* Seminar participation: 10%
