Objectives The student is expected to obtain an understanding of the scientific and engineering principles of the unit operations involved in the paper making process.

Synopsis Rheology of pulp suspensions, hydrocyclones, screening, wet end systems, wet end chemistry, refining, flow boxes, sheet formation, grammage variability, wire table elements, drainage, twin wire forming, pressing and press sections, drying, surface sizing and starch properties, coating, calendering, winding and finishing.
