Selected topics in transport phenomena

3 points
* 18 lectures and 6 tutorials
* Clayton
* Prerequisites: CHE3112

Objectives The student is expected to extend knowledge and understanding of the principles of transport phenomena and the mathematical techniques used to analyse complex systems relevant to chemical engineering.

Synopsis Topics will depend on staff and student interest. Some of the following will be selected: compressible, turbulent, non-Newtonian and multiphase flow; numerical methods for transport equations; motions of particles, bubbles and drops.

Assessment Project: 60%
* Assignments: 40%
