Objectives The student is expected to develop skills in the ability to plan experiments; technical report writing; research and self learning. Students are expected to develop an interest in experimentation and a commitment to safe practices.

Synopsis Laboratory exercises, problem-solving sessions using computers and plant visits.

Assessment Laboratory report: 75%
* Test: 25%
