Psychological assessment

* Prerequisites: Completion of an approved major sequence in psychology

Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have acquired a basic knowledge of the range of psychological tests and assessment instruments; be able to administer the basic intelligence and personality tests; and have acquired a grounding in psychometric theory.

Synopsis Topics to be covered include the psychometric bases of assessment, an introduction to the practice of clinical assessment in psychology, and a systematic treatment of the major methods of personality assessment including objective, projective and behavioural instruments and clinical judgement.
