Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have a knowledge and understanding of a particular discipline in social studies teaching; developed skills in classroom teaching of senior social studies subjects; developed an awareness of current issues in the appropriate discipline; a capacity to discuss and debate professional issues in the appropriate disciplinary context.

Synopsis This subject will allow social studies students to specialise in one of the following areas: history, geography, politics and sociology.
