Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should understand the key personal administrative and planning issues and needs involved in their future professional role.
Synopsis This subject focuses on an induction into the profession including seeking and gaining employment. Policy, curriculum and program planning and development procedures are studied, as well as the process of analysis, diagnosis, assessment and evaluation as required by both the classroom and the school administration. Among issues explored are the professional and legal rights and responsibilities of teachers, children and parents, the development of parent-teacher relationships, the nature of teacher knowledge and teacher welfare.
Assessment Review of current issue (1000 words): 30%
