Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should understand the meaning of the term `physical fitness'; understand the difference between health-related and skill-related components of fitness; be able to explain the means of energy production in the body; have skills in measuring fitness components; be able to evaluate their own strengths and weaknesses with reference to the components of fitness.

Synopsis Exercise physiology; energy for physical activity; physical fitness; fitness components; children's fitness; fitness testing; validity and reliability in fitness tests; types of training; weight training; stretching..

Assessment Examination: 60%
* Laboratory reports: 40%
