Objectives Upon successful completion of this subject, students should have developed an understanding of, and practical competence in structured programming utilising data structures and file structures; the design and implementation of interactive programs; the implementation of sorting and searching techniques.
Synopsis This subject continues the development of understanding and technical skill in computer programming. Concepts covered include batch processing, interactive processing; intrinsic functions; user-defined functions; data structures; file structures; sorting techniques; searching techniques. The techniques involved in the development and implementation of structured, modular programs together with related considerations such as screen design, `user friendliness' and documentation.
Assessment Practical exercises (3500 words): 35%
