On completion of this course students will:
The basic requirement for entry to the course is satisfactory completion of an upper secondary school program equivalent to the Victorian Certificate of Education. Applicants will be expected to successfully complete units 1 and 2 of Mathematics (any) and have a grade average of C in English.
Students who have completed the first year of the normal Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Business at the Gippsland campus with good academic results may be admitted to the second year of the double degree with full credit for appropriate first-year studies.
Mature-age applicants are assessed on the basis of their employment and overall educational background and career objectives.
This course is normally completed over four years of full-time study or eight years of part-time/distance education study.
In order to complete the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Business degree a student must;
(a) complete appropriate subjects within the course to gain at least 192 points but not more than 216 points;
(b) complete a major of fifty-two points and a minor of twenty-eight points from the arts disciplines;
(c) complete the following compulsory core subjects;
(e) undertake any additional studies to complete the minimum 192 points needed for the double degree.
Arts major and minor studies are available in the following areas.
Gender studies, mass communications, history, politics, Indonesian, sociology, writing
Australian studies, community studies, journalism and all of the above arts major sequences.
Business major and submajor studies are available in the following areas.
Accounting, economics, management, marketing, tourism management.
Law and all of the above business major studies.
