Objectives On completion of the subject students should have further developed and enhanced the skills necessary to research a specialised topic from a wide variety of relevant sources. They should have identified, evaluated and analysed a wide range of material. They should also have acquired knowledge in a specialised area of public policy and management which would not normally be covered in a formal teaching unit in the program.
Synopsis This subject consists of study in a special field of public policy and management in which no formal subject is available. In such a subject the supervisor will prescribe a list of references, consult frequently with the student and set whatever written work and examination is deemed appropriate. Students interested in a reading subject of this type should first consult, and then obtain the approval of, the MPPM program director.
