Objectives This subject aims to impart an understanding of the cost and non-cost approaches to controlling the logistics function.

Synopsis To use information systems in a range of logistics applications; interpret corporate financial statements; carry out break-even analysis; explain activity-based cost accounting; evaluate capital projects using discounted cash flow techniques; evaluate logistics decisions using the strategic profit model; explain a number of approaches to quality; use statistical quality control tools; devise and apply appropriate performance measures in logistics functions; explain approaches to organisation structure for logistics management.
