Objectives On completion of this subject students should understand the economic benefits from the trade in agricultural and food products; be aware of barriers to agricultural trade and efforts to reduce these; apply marketing management principles to the international marketing of food and fibre products.

Synopsis The economic benefits from trade; the role of agriculture as an export industry; barriers to trade in food and fibre products; exchange rates; the financial legal and cultural environment of food and fibre marketing; international marketing management.

Assessment Assignment (3500 words): 35%
* Cases: 15%
* Examination (3 hours): 50%
