Objectives On completion of this subject students will be able to understand organisations as learning systems; describe, analyse and compare various models of organisational learning and leadership and the way learning change and system thinking inter-relate; define and assess an organisation's learning and leadership capabilities and their relationship to organisational strategy; design systems which link culture and knowledge structures to other capabilities and strategic goals, and provide associated programs to develop organisational learning skills including the development of `learning organisations'.

Synopsis Organisations as open learning systems in turbulent environments; introduction to learning of the individual, group, organisational levels; the concepts of organisational learning and organisational learning theories, models, techniques and practices of the learning organisation; leadership, culture and organisational learning; case studies and action learning.

Assessment Individual project and presentation: 30%
