Objectives On completion of this subject students should have strengthened their understanding of contemporary issues in management theory and research; consolidated their ability to analyse critically management research; developed their ability to discriminate between matters of substance and rhetoric; reinforced their confidence in their ability to contribute to academic debate and discourse; and have acquired a useful preparation for the rigours of graduate study in management.
Synopsis All intending honours students will be required to enrol for this subject in their final semester in third year. The subject will require attendance at, and participation in, a series of weekly seminars that utilise the expertise of various members of staff and guest lecturers. The specific content of the seminars is based upon the research expertise and interests of participating staff, and will vary from year to year.
Assessment This is an unweighted subject. Entry into management honours will, however, be dependent upon satisfactory attendance at, and participation in, the seminar series.
