Objectives On completion of the subject students will have a sound knowledge of the use of selected qualitative and quantitative research methodologies; demonstrated competence in the use of selected work flow analysis tools and statistical techniques; identified emerging innovations in electronic commerce technologies and practised their application to research; designed a field research project using the appropriate research methodologies to analyse a business process; and determined the most effective application of available electronic commerce technologies to that business process
Synopsis This subject will be concerned with the development of a number of research skills, beginning with a analysis of the applications of quantitative methods to business research. The use of qualitative research and the analysis of qualitative data forms the second part of the study. The subject will then deal with research aims and determination of methodologies and the use of various research techniques such as interviewing, questionnaires, scaling etc. The final section of the course will deal with data analysis, synthesis and report writing. The focus of this subject will be in teaching students the competencies necessary to undertake research to assist in the implementation and evaluation of electronic commerce in business.
