Objectives On completion of this subject participants should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of the banking sector; the effect of bank regulation on the finance sector; requirements in arranging borrowing (and investment) facilities; the cost of capital; debt capacity and its effect on the firm/company; dividend policy; investment appraisal; project finance; project financing.

Synopsis Topics include banking requirements; the banking relationship; bank account executive; debt issues, arranging the facility and revolving term, facilities; guarantees; cost of capital and debt capacity; dividend policy; investment appraisal and project financing.

Assessment Assignment and coursework: 50%
* Examination (3 hours): 50%
