Objectives Students who have completed this subject should have a knowledge of the main developments in Ukrainian literature from the 1890s to the 1920s. They should have become familiar with some major works by Kotsiubyns'kyi, Lesia Ukrainka, Vasyl' Stefanyk and others, and should have gained an understanding of the main features of European modernism and of its Ukrainian variant.

Synopsis A study of major works of Ukrainian literary modernism.

Assessment Written (2000 words): 60%
* Examinations (1 hour): 40%
