Objectives Students undertake a program of study offered by the host institution and should achieve a good level of competency in the designated tasks. They are also expected to take advantage of access to Spanish library holdings, and the Spanish-speaking academic environment to accomplish a significant amount of research and writing bearing on their dissertation topic. During their stay in Spain or Latin America, students are expected to comply with deadlines set out for the dissertation, and to maintain contact with their supervisors.

Synopsis Two approved semester-length subjects at a foreign institution. Placement arrangements will be made through the department.

Assessment Students will be required to bring back all written work for assessment.
