Sociology: research practicum

* Prerequisites: First-year SCY sequence or equivalent, SCY theory option and SCY methods option and for BA (SocSci) students, three second/third-year SCY subjects

Objectives On completion of this subject, students should have developed an understanding of the importance of research in the discipline of sociology; gained an appreciation of the details involved in the research process; demonstrated an understanding of the research process.

Synopsis A student will undertake the research practicum by individually supervised field research culminating in a report; or undertake group research, under supervision, culminating in a report; or undertake individually supervised library research culminating in a dissertation.
