Objectives On the completion of this subject students will be able to evaluate psychological tests, and will have achieved an understanding of the essential concepts and critical findings in two major areas of psychology.

Synopsis This subject is designed for students who want to continue their studies in psychology at third-year level but who do not want an accredited major in psychology or entry to honours. Its aim is to give an account at an advanced level of selected topics in contemporary psychology for students majoring in other disciplines. The subject comprises three 12- 13 lecture units on (i) testing and assessment; (ii) advanced cognition (iii) advanced psychobiology and (iv) psychoanalytic theories. In addition to the four lectures there will be a one-hour tutorial per week.
