Objectives Students successfully completing this subject will have a thorough understanding of a number of recent problems in philosophy. The exact nature of the problems addressed will vary from year to year; but in all cases, students should find themselves in a position to follow debates through articles in scholarly journals, and to contribute to those debates themselves.

Synopsis This subject will discuss a number of current issues and contemporary writings within analytical philosophy. The selection will come from areas of epistemology, metaphysics, logic, philosophy of language, ethics, moral psychology, philosophy of science, social and political philosophy.
