Objectives The objectives for this subject will depend on the nature of the syllabus devised by the student and the supervisor.

Synopsis The supervised reading course may be used to fill gaps in the student's background or to tailor a course to individual requirements. Where a reading course is taken, one or two supervisors will be appointed, and regular essays will be required. When appropriate, a student may be required to attend lectures for a relevant third or fourth-year subject.

Assessment One 6000-word essay: 100%
