Objectives Upon successful completion of the subject students should have a practical knowledge of a variety of issues in the musical traditions of Sub-Saharan Africa, including the history, musical styles, the socio-cultural function of different performance genres, and musical instruments.

Synopsis As for MUS3910 but with two additional assignments totalling 4000 words.
