Objectives Upon completion of the subject students should have a practical knowledge of a variety of issues in the musical traditions of India, including history, musical styles, the socio/cultural function of different performance genres, and musical instruments,

Synopsis As for MUS3330. History and analysis of selected works from specific areas of India, including a special research project or scholarly performance assignment.

Assessment Written (4000 words): 45%
* Examinations (1.5 hours): 40%
* Assignments (500 words): 15%
