Jewish philosophy in context

Objectives This subject provides an introduction to jewish thought. Students will develop an understanding of the key concepts of Jewish thought and their relation to general philosophical issues.

Synopsis The subject will focus on the major concerns of Jewish thought through various epochs and the relation of these concerns to those of contemporaneous general philosophy.

Assessment Tutorial paper, presented orally and in writing (1000 words): 20%
* Research essay (3000 words): 40%
* Examination (two hours): 40%
