Introduction to Japanese linguistics

Objectives Students should develop familiarity with a number of topics pertaining to Japanese linguistics and the ability to critically review an empirical study.

Synopsis This subject is an introduction to the linguistic study of Japanese and deals with a number of topics from different areas of language.

Assessment Essay (3000 words): 50%
* Review (1000 words): 10%
* Examination (2 hours): 40%
