Objectives Students successfully completing this subject should have acquired greater understanding of a specialised area in Italian studies.

Synopsis This subject offers the opportunity to study in depth a particular topic in Italian culture, society or linguistics and, more especially, to combine Italian studies with suitably advanced work in related disciplines. Students are advised to consult with members of staff to ascertain if adequate supervision in the proposed area of study is available.

Assessment Two essays (2000 words each): 65%
* end-of-semester examination (2 hours): 35%
