Objectives Students will have the opportunity to develop (i) the ability to use Italian independently with sufficient accuracy to participate effectively in most formal academic and informal communicative situations, (ii) develop strategies that will enable them to give coherence and cohesiveness to their speech, focussing on extended discourse, and structure ideas and information effectively for the purpose of academic writing in Italian and meaningful communication in most social and professional situations.
Synopsis This subject is directed at fourth-year honours students and seeks to promote linguistic proficiency and the acquisition of a high level of communicative competence through intensive exposure to Italian and through works directly linked with other academic work at this level (dissertation in the target language).
Assessment Examinations and tests: 30%
