Objectives Students successfully completing this subject should have acquired greater understanding of a specialised area in Italian studies.
Synopsis A subject intended to give students the opportunity to pursue, in appropriate cases, a specialised aspect of Italian studies not otherwise available, provided adequate supervision is available in the department. Interested students should first discuss their proposed topic with a prospective supervisor, and then apply for permission to enrol in the individual option. Approved candidates will normally be required to submit periodic reports, as well as a longer paper, at the end of the semester, summarising their findings.
Assessment: Two essays (2000 words each): 65%; end-of-semester examination (2 hours): 35%
