Objectives As for HSY2720 with the additional objectives of developing skills in the critical analysis of national identity and colonialism and encouraging a deeper understanding of the uses of history in political revolution and nationalism.

Synopsis As for HSY2720.

Assessment Document exercise, tutorial paper, research essay (total 5000 words): 80%
* Examination (1 hour): 20%
* Option of additional essay of 1000 words in place of the examination
* Third-year students will be expected to initiate their own research topic.
