Objectives As for HSY2580 with the additional objectives of developing more sophisticated skills in the critical analysis of various forms of literary and cinematic representation and awareness of the conceptual issues involved in the use of memory and oral history.

* Long essay (3000 words): 40%
* Exam in class (1000 words): 15%
* Take-home examination (2000 words): 25%
* Third-year students will be expected to undertake substantial primary research in their long essay.
