Objectives The objectives of this subject are to master the techniques for generating topics and projects, and to develop a body of writing techniques (eg description, narrativisation, characterisation, dialogue, mise-en-scene, first person narrator, pictorial illustration) germane to particular forms of writing, and which will result in a portfolio of the student's own work; students will work individually and in groups on self-generated and prescribed projects, prepare manuscripts for publication, and develop the ability to reflect critically on their own work.

Synopsis This subject is where students apply the skills and knowledge acquired in GSC3421 (Writing 1). Through the production of a portfolio of their work, students will demonstrate knowledge of the different contemporary writing practices, forms of writing, and audiences. The portfolio will contain the results of a combination of individual and collaborative writing projects.
