Objectives Upon completion of this subject and GRN3625, students should have such an excellent command of German grammar that they no longer make basic errors, and only very few errors in advanced constructions; be able to discuss, both in written and spoken form, most topics of general nature, and those specialist topics related -to their own fields of interest; be able to read German texts on any subject; be able to understand with ease television and radio broadcasts on most subjects; be able to translate from German complicated texts on any subject, and from English texts related to their own fields of interest; be able to understand non-standard language containing elements of regional speech and/or dialect.

Synopsis Advanced spoken and written German.

Assessment Written (2000 words): 40%
* Examinations (2 hours): 60%
